SFBLI's 2018 nEW Agent of the Year

What is the most satisfying part of being a Farm Bureau agent?
I receive satisfaction in knowing that I am not only an agent, but a friend to many of my clients. I also enjoy providing solutions that help them protect their family’s financial future.

What made you want to become an agent? Specifically with Farm Bureau?
I went fishing with a buddy of mine who works for a local real estate company and he told me that Farm Bureau had an agent retiring and the manager was interviewing potential new agents. I have always thought of Farm Bureau as a very solid company and it was appealing to me having the opportunity to have flexible hours and earn a better income for my family. I specifically went with Farm Bureau because everyone I asked stated how great the company is and its strong financial stability.

As an agent, how important is your community involvement?
It’s everything. If people can put a name with a face, that’s priceless. Every weekend, I’m out in the community doing something. I want people to see me as more than an insurance agent. Every person I meet I try to make a connection with and make sure they know I am here to help.

What advice would you give someone who is thinking of becoming an insurance agent?
I would advise them to listen to their Agency Manager and to all the training you receive in Agent Training School. I was told not to reinvent the wheel and just do what I’m told to do. Don’t be scared to hear NO! Don’t give up. Stay active and ask everyone!
